First Ride of the Year - Feb 18th

New job, new location, new starting point for routes.  Just moving a couple miles would change a whole lot right?  What if it adds 10 extra minutes during your favorite lunch-time ride?  It is killer.

I moved from 50th and May to 63rd and Western.  A measily 3 miles North and East.  I already found my route to Hefner.  The general jist is below.  I detoured a little from the map shown but I definitely followed Grand to get to the lake.

So what did I learn after not peddling since my charity bike ride?  Remember water and food ALWAYS tastes better after a bike ride.

NONE of the water fountains were turned on at Lake Hefner on February 18th.  Which normally doesn't matter.  Except I forgot to fill my water bottle before taking off.  Lesson learned.

I rushed back to the office and lunch was AMAZING!  I don't remember what it was because it was a month ago, but I just remember the flavors were so rich.  I attribute this to my enjoyment of the long missed saddle.

Cheers,

Change of pace

I've changed jobs, picked up coaching soccer for my son, and am on an outdoor adult soccer league myself.  What does this mean?  I'm sore a lot and short on time.  I know I haven't even posted my pics from the MS Route 66 bike ride and it was over two weeks ago!  I'll get there I promise.  But this is me saying I'll get caught up one day.

Fat Bastard

Want!  The instructions to build this beast are online.  I think it would be awesome downhill.

T-shirt idea

I know this isn't biking related and a bit off topic, but I think this would be a good t-shirt idea.  I'm into programming a little bit and thought this would be neat.  It is a bit nerdy though.  The slash indicates end.

Cyclocross tires

I am amazed at Cyclocross. I have a hard enough time on dirt with my wide handlebars on my mountain bike and staying upright. I'm not sure how those guys and gals do it with drop handlebars, must just have lots of straight-a-ways. I got this email from Specialized because I am on their mailing list and it had some tires shown for Cyclocross. And it makes me want to bite the bullet and try this different type of cycling.

Thankfully, I think I'm still a ways out from doing something this nutty.

Cheers,

This would be awesome to use barhopping

I can see college frat boys romping this thing over curbs and attempting to lock it up outside their favorite watering hole.

HERE WE COME!!!
