If you ain't first, you're last.

"If you ain't first, you're last."

-Ricky Bobby from Talledega Nights

"America is all about speed. Hot, nasty, bad ass speed."

— Eleanor Roosevelt also from Talledega Nights

If you ain't goin' fast at Louie's, you're doin' it wrong. When you go around the lake (Lake Hefner that is) you have to take a couple things into consideration. No one wants to admit to this, but you have to go fast at Louie's on the Lake Restaurant. And you have to make it look like you are not sweating at all. There is so much to consider but I will gladly break it down for you.

It is so important to look fast to people who are sitting, eating way too much food, and probably don't notice that one more bicycle just flew by the wall of windows but you have to keep up appearances. So I have broken it down into two easy steps on how to look good going around the lakeside restaurant.

1. Wind direction
2. Gather energy

Wind direction will be your friend at going faster and making it look easy. The best thing to do is check your local weather or flag pole. I check here.

Also, before you get close to Louie's, take a breather. Relax. You need to save a bit of energy for your next "controlled" sprint.

Well, that's it for today's bit of fun. All I did today was ride to the lake, around and back. Gaw it feels nice to have a new bike. Although my gear shifters are in a different spot now. My old 10 speed had the shifters on the headpost. My new 27 speed has the shifters right on the handlebar breaks. IT IS AWESOME!!!

Cheers,
Jon

Or you can be going so fast they can't see if you're sweating...

"If you ain't first, you're last." ... Aren't you glad I'm not one of those tools that feels the need to post "First" when I'm the first person to leave a comment?
